my brooklyn bff and i have a tradition of buying the worst book we can think of and then reading it aloud to each other at bars when we visit each other. the first book we did this with was sisterhood of the traveling pants part V (spoiler alert: all the girls are 30 and one croaks). when we finished reading the last page of that abomination, i promptly threw it out of my friend’s fifth floor bedroom window.
this time around, we decided to tackle tyra(nt) banks’ 600 page tome, modelland. we got to page 11 and couldn’t bear any more butchering of the english language. so this morning, i put the book in the street where it belongs and then boarded my bus. i took a seat and opened my book to find out what heathcliff and cathy have been up to and then i look up and learn that one person’s trash can turn into another’s treasure in mere seconds. life is grand, is it not?
